Accessorial Charges

The following charges may be assessed in order to complete the pickup or delivery of a shipment. No prior approval is required.

In order to continue providing our customers with the top quality service they expect, our accessorial rates will be adjusted effective April 2, 2007.

Mall Pick-up/Delivery	$20.00. A surcharge to pick-up/delivery to a mall dock. An inside pick-up/delivery charge may also apply if the pick-up/delivery is past a threshold or dock.
Motel Pick-up/Delivery	$20.00. A surcharge to pick-up/delivery to a motel. An inside pick-up/delivery charge may also apply if the pick-up/delivery is past a threshold or dock.
Notification Fee	$12.00
Open Up Fee	$100.00
Over the Counter Fee	Shippers requiring "over the counter" pickup or delivery service direct to an airline's counter will be assessed a special service charge of $25.00 per shipment in addition to all other charges.
Reconsignment Fee	$25.00
Refused or Rejected Shipments	Refused or rejected shipments that are returned to the initial shipper will be subject to the applicable rates and charges in effect from the point of return the date the shipment is returned. All charges revert to the originator of the shipment.
Released Rates	Air/Ocean: The released value for all shipments is 50 cents per pound per piece, not to exceed a maximum value of $10,000.00 per shipment on a single bill of lading, unless a higher released value or declared value is specified by the shipper on the bill or lading, airbill, or shipping order. The charge for additional coverage is 65 cents for each additional $100.00 value or portion thereof, up to a maximum carrier liability of $100,000.00, when the declared value is noted on this carrier's bill of lading or pro. If the released value or declared value is not clearly noted on this carrier's bill, this carrier's cargo liability is limited to .50/lb. Advanced warning to a Towne Air Freight manager via fax must be given and confirmed via return fax for shipments being transported with a value in excess of $50,000.00. LTL/Commercial: The released value for all shipments is $25.00 per pound per piece, not to exceed a maximum value of $100,000.00 per shipment on a single bill of lading, unless a higher released value or declared value is specified by the shipper on the bill or lading, airbill, or shipping order. The charge for additional coverage is 75 cents for each additional $100.00 value or portion thereof, up to a maximum carrier liability of $250,000.00, when the declared value is noted on this carrier's bill of lading or pro. If the released value or declared value is not clearly noted on this carrier's bill, cargo liability is limited to $25.00 per pound. Advanced warning to a Towne Air Freight manager via fax must be given and confirmed via return fax for shipments being transported with a value in excess of $50,000.00. Points from U.S. to Canada: The released value for all shipments is $25.00 per pound per piece, not to exceed a maximum value of $100,000.00 per shipment on a single bill of lading, unless a higher released value or declared value is specified by the shipper on the bill or lading. The charge for additional coverage is 75 cents for each additional $100.00 value or portion thereof, up to a maximum carrier liability of $250,000.00, when the declared value is noted on this carrier's bill of lading or pro. If the released value or declared value is not clearly noted on the carrier's bill of lading, cargo liability is limited to $25.00 per pound. Advanced warning to a Towne Air Freight manager via fax must be given and confirmed via return fax for shipments being transported with a value in excess of $50,000.00. Note 1: Excess liability coverage is available only on single line traffic. On joint line traffic, the $25.00 per pound and $100,000 per shipment liability will apply but excess coverage is not available. Single line traffic includes Towne Air Freight and its Canadian business partner at the time of delivery. Note 2: The provisions of this item do not apply to any article which is subject to an actual value or a released value provision in the NMFC or to any "used" item. Refer to Items 847 and 848 of the TOWE 100-B Rules Schedule for liability limits on these articles.
Repackaging	$60.00 per hour plus materials charged in 15 minute increments. Minimum charge of $60.00.
Residential Pick-up/Delivery	$20.00. A surcharge to pick-up/delivery to a residence. An inside pick-up/delivery charge may also apply if the pick-up/delivery is past a threshold or dock.
