TAF Owner/Operator Requirements

Minimum Driver Requirements:

• Must have at least two years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial motor vehicle
• Minimum age requirement 23 years old
• Must be able to write, comprehend and speak English
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be a US Citizen, or have a valid employment authorization from the US
• Immigration and Naturalization Service
• Must have USDOT physical within the last 30 days
• Must pass MVR and criminal background check
• Must attend, complete and pass a 3-day orientation training class

Disqualifications:

• Speeding violations 15 mph over the posted limit or any other major
• More than two moving violations during the last 36 months
• No more than one preventable accident within the last 36 months
• Any DUI and/or reckless driving convictions in the past 36 months
• Failure to operate and/or maintain safe vehicle

Minimum Equipment Requirements:

• 10 Years or newer
• Must have current USDOT Inspection
• Maximum total truck height is 13 feet 6 inches
• Maximum fifth wheel height is 47 inches
• Pigtail must be hot

TAF Owner/Operator Support Package

Pay Structure:

Your rate of pay as an independent contractor is based on several variables. Rate structure is flat rate or per mile. Please call recruiting for more details, 866-234-7464.

• 100% toll reimbursement
• Detention and layover pay when approved by linehaul manager
• Stop off fee is paid for stop offs above and beyond the lane that driver is running
• Fuel Stabilization
• Weekly settlements
• Miles paid are determined by PC Miles - NOT odometer readings
• Solo driver can expect approximately - 3000 miles per week
• Team drivers can expect approximately - 5000 miles per week

TAF Owner/Operator Support Package - Tractor Only

Driver Support Options

• Permit Program
  • Permits can be issued at a one time cost of $150.00 (taken from lSt settlement). Includes IFTA, KYU, NYU, NM, OR (MPSC is not included). Year 2 and beyond are free. Road fuel tax calculation and payment is available. The fee is $.015/mile, deducted from weekly pay settlements. ($.01 for payment of taxes, $.005 for administration fee)
• Base Plate Program
  • Indiana apportioned plate Must have copy of title, lease, and paid highway use tax (form 2290) Cost- $2100.00 per year.

Insurance Options

Vehicle insurance is available with Towne Air through a company by the name of GWCC. Non Trucking Use / Bobtail, Physical Damage with 1,000,000 coverage and Occupational Accident insurance are all requirements of Towne Air Freight. return to top

Rocket Owner/Operator Requirements

Minimum Equipment Requirements:

Vans*

• 5 yrs or newer
• 98" between wheel wells highly recommended
• Recommended capacity of 1 ton or better

Straight Trucks*

• 10 yrs or newer
• Dock High
• Sleeper berth recommended
• CDL Class B preferred
• Hazardous materials endorsement recommended

Tractor/Owner Operators*

• 10 yrs or newer
• Owner Operator is responsible for plates and registration
• Owner Operator is responsible for IFTA filing and quarterly payments
• Owner Operator is responsible for obtaining any state permits that are not already provided by Rocket.

*All must have current USDOT inspection

Rocket Owner/Operator Support Package

Pay Package**

• Fuel Surcharge paid to the driver based on the national Dept. of Energy's average

**Deadhead approved after 24 hour wait for reload unless released by dispatch earlier.

Pay Details

Vans & Straight Trucks

• 100% paid fuel surcharge
• Loaded backhauls outside of the core market are paid at 65% of billable revenue
• All dispatches include 1 pick up and 1 delivery; additional stops will be paid per stop when authorized
• Detention rate paid per hour after the first hour when authorized
• Weekly settlements

Tractor Owner/Operator

• Detention and layover pay when approved by the linehaul manager
• Stop off fee is paid for stop offs above and beyond the lane that driver is running
• Paid fuel surcharge based on the National average price per gallon
• Miles paid are determined by the PC Miles NOT odometer readings
• Solo driver can expect- 3000 miles per week
• Team drivers can expect- 5000 miles per week
• Weekly Settlements

Insurance Options

Vehicle insurance is available with Rocket though a company by the name of GWCC. Non Trucking Use 1 Bobtail, Physical Damage with 1,000,000 coverage and Occupational Accident insurance are all requirements of Rocket Expedited Services. If you choose GWCC as your insurance provider, both TAF and Rocket drivers will pay the same rate for NTU/ Bobtail insurance. return to top
