Current Fuel Surcharge
Effective July 1, 2007 Towne Air Freight will implement a separate fuel surcharge for
truckload shipments. We will define truckload as any shipment being billed as an
"Exclusive" or greater than or equal to 20,000 pounds. The fuel
component in the cost structure of truckload shipments is significantly
higher than LTL shipments.
Our Rules Tariff has also been updated to include the following statement.
Due to the potential for significant fluctuations in market prices for fuel, we reserve the right to assess a
fuel surcharge to shipments without notice. Any such surcharge will be applied in an equitable manner to all
shipments having similar characteristics and will be applied to such periods as we may determine necessary.
Air and Ocean Freight Surcharge - 36.5%
LTL Freight Surcharge - 36%
*Truckload Surcharge - 72.2%
*Truckload is defined as any shipment being billed as an "Exclusive" or greater than or equal to 20,000 pounds.
