Towne Air Freight Acquires Synergy Cargo Logistics

South Bend, IN - As of February 5, 2008, Towne Air Freight ("Towne"), headquartered in South Bend, IN has acquired the eight-location operation of Synergy Cargo Logistics ("Synergy") resulting in seven new full-service Towne terminals and a greater presence in the southwestern United States.

After an integration period, four additional service points will be added to Towne's map including: Tucson, AZ; Nogales, AZ, Calexico, CA; and El Paso, TX. Operations in three cities-Phoenix, AZ, Las Vegas, NV and San Diego, CA-previously serviced by agents, will be now handled by Towne Air Freight. Employees from Synergy's Los Angeles terminal will work closely with the existing staff at Towne's LAX facility. All new locations will provide a complete menu of services including Towne's On-Time Guaranteed airport-to-airport and airport-to-door service as well as Local PU & D.

Synergy's asset-light service model, current footprint and a similar customer base of air and ocean freight forwarders, along with strong earnings on 2007 Revenue of $25 million, were all attractive attributes to the Towne Air team.

"The acquisition of Synergy significantly strengthens our full-service model in Arizona, Nevada and California, opens a door into Texas while improving transit times with all other stations," stated Tom Downey, President and CEO of Towne Air Freight.

"Not only is our reach growing," he continued, "We are delighted to welcome Synergy employees and independent contractors to the Towne Team. The experience and professionalism of the Synergy team is very impressive."

"This will be a positive change that will benefit the entire team of Synergy employees as well as our valued customer base," said Kim Sheridan-Rohasek, founder of Synergy who has assumed the role of Vice President of Towne's Western Region. "Towne's expansive network, along with their tradition of service excellence, provides an environment that allows us to excel at what we do best."

Synergy Cargo Logistics-a privately-held, "asset-light" logistics company-was founded in 1994 by Kim Sheridan-Rohasek. In just over a decade, Synergy had rapidly grown into a $25 million company focused on serving the domestic and international freight forwarding industry.
