Towne Air Freight and sister company Rocket Expedited are pleased to announce that both carriers are fully
compliant with the new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandates for the transportation of air cargo.
Also, both Towne and Rocket are approved to file and maintain all background checks directly with the TSA.
The new TSA regulations charge forwarders with the task of administering security training and testing to as well
as filing necessary personal information of each individual that comes in contact with air cargo. As carriers
gain and lose employees, it is the responsibility of the forwarders to supply the TSA with correct documentation.
Towne Air Freight employees have completed all TSA required training, testing and background checks.
"This is exciting news for our customers in the forwarding community," said Chief Operating Officer Mike Coyne.
"Many of our customers are seeking solutions to the challenges the mandates present. We are uniquely positioned to
assume responsibility for the completion of annual training and continuous updates of documentation with the TSA."
Towne's Director of Security, Rich Hiers added "The new regulations will change how forwarders choose to move
their cargo. Compliance will be key and Towne is one of only a few carriers able to relieve our customers of
the vast amount of administrative work required to remain TSA compliant."
