Towne Orientation Program (T.O.P.)

On the first day of employment, driver and dock employees start with our Towne Orientation Program (T.O.P.) and employees are trained throughout their tenure with our company. Towne Air Freight's T.O.P. program covers areas such as:

Quarterly Safety Meetings

Drivers and dockworkers attend a safety meeting each quarter. Topics covered include:

Bi-Monthly Safety Briefings

Drivers and dockworkers attend bi-monthly safety briefings. These 10-minute briefings cover any topic that the terminal manager deems needed at the time.

TSA Training

As required by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration. all employees are required to go through annual TSA training.

OSHA Training

Employees go through annual OSHA training. This training is completed on line and in classroom environments.

Driver Mentor Program

Each terminal is staffed with a company-certified driver mentor. It is the responsibility of the driver mentor to road test applicants and to serve as a trainer for the first week of employment for a new driver. The mentor program is designed to ease a new employee into the Towne atmosphere and to make the transition an easy task.

Sub-contracted Carriers

Sub-contracted carriers are trucking companies that Towne Air Freight has a business relationship with. To become a sub-contracted carrier (S.C.C.), the prospective carrier should contact the Safety Department at 800-755-3183.
